Golf Shoes Review: FootJoy Contour Casual
With all the golf shoe options out there today, it is always hard to know where to start and what to try on. Personally, I always like a shoe that is comfortable first and foremost, and I also look for shoes that are waterproof – not because I spend a lot of time in the hazard, but also walking through heavy morning do can leave your feet wet for the rest of the round. Of course, like anyone, I also look for a shoe that is stylish.
For a long time now, I have been a big fan of FootJoy golf shoes. I always find them to be very comfortable, stylish, and I think most (if not all) are waterproof. I had been eyeing the FootJoy Contour Casuals for a while, and finally decided to go try them on.
The first thing I noticed was how absolutely comfortable they were. They slid right on and immediately felt like I had been wearing them for a few months. I walked around the store for a bit to make sure the fit was right. I did notice that my right heel was sliding up a bit, but after I reworked the laces that resolved and I headed for the register.
The first round I played in the Contour Casuals was great, and I could tell these were going to be a great golf shoe for hopefully a few seasons. The early heel issue I found at the store was completely gone, and I felt like walking 18+ holes in these shoes would be no problem, whether there was a heavy morning do or not.
Let’s take a look at some of the highlights of the FootJoy Contour Casual golf shoe.
The lightweight cushioned foot bed provides excellent underfoot comfort and heel support. The innovative foot bed ensures a optimal comfort under the foot by dampening shock while walking.
The DuraMax rubber bottom is a proprietary material that provides turf gripping performance and superior durability.
Soft, full grain leather provides excellent waterproof comfort, durability, and of course breathability that is backed by a one year warranty by FootJoy.
The bottom line, if you are looking for a more casual looking golf shoe that will offer superior comfort, and is waterproof you should definitely check out the FootJoy Contour Casual. I think you will be very pleased with the features and traction the shoe provides.
